ND Industries’ core business centers on the application of a materials onto fasteners and assemblies to aid in locking, sealing, masking, lubricating, and noise and vibration dampening. Headquartered near Detroit, its products increase the safety and reliability of fastener assemblies.
As a fully integrated supplier ND says it offers a cost-effective alternative to products and services from firms such as Loctite, 3M, Nylok, and Long-Lok.
Among ND Industries’ offerings is the Epoxy-Lock Nut pre-applied threadlocker. Epoxy hardener and epoxy resin are applied to the threads of the washer. Fastener engagement causes the two epoxy components to mix over the 360 degrees, which activates the lock and sealing action. Epoxy-Lock nuts provide two to four times greater breakaway torque than conventional nylon fastener locking devices. The epoxy formulation is compatible with most platings and substrates including metal, plastic, wood, and ceramic.
ND’s Stay‑Put Washers, designed as retention aids, hold a fastener or multiple components in-place before final assembly. Stay‑Put Washers are metal, allowing for proper load distribution. The use a dry-to-the-touch flexible polymer bonded to the inner surface of the washer at 120° intervals, a geometry that keeps the fastener centered in the washer opening and makes for a secure hold.
ND also offers services such as application of 3M Fastener Adhesives, microencapsulated, room temperature-curing adhesives designed to be coated on the fasteners and dried. 3M Fastener Adhesive products contain a microencapsulated epoxy resin that is suspended in a hardener. The force of thread engagement crushes the microscopic capsules of epoxy resin, mixing the reactant components, and initiating a chemical reaction which locks the parts together.
Visitors to the 2020 Fastener Fair USA exposition, running May 18-20 in Charlotte, NC, will be able to see the these and other products from ND Industries in Booth 921.
