BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, OH - Coventya, Inc., a world leader in surface finishing treatments based in Brooklyn Heights, OH, announced the acquisition of its key Midwest distributor, Mibus, Inc.
Sean Bustard, President of Mibus, Inc. will join Coventya as Regional Sales Manager, Upper Midwest Region. Bustard has more than 25 years experience in the metal finishing industry in various sales and management positions. Bustard will utilize his vast experience across all finish types to help expand Coventya’s business in the Upper Midwest region.
Located in Chicago, Bustard will report directly to Mike Kelly, President.
“Sean’s extensive experience and drive has already proven to be a tremendous asset to COVENTYA. As a direct employee, we can provide additional resources to help him to support and expand our applicator partner base,” said Kelly. Coventya is a global supplier of specialty chemicals for electroplating and surface finishing for a variety of industries, including automotive, heavy industry, aerospace, oil field and data storage. Headquartered in France, Conventya U.S. operations are based in Brooklyn Heights, OH.
In 2019, Coventya introduced FINIGARD 112, an all-new fastener top-coat specifically designed for meeting numerous automotive fastener specifications. With a new generation of friction modifiers the friction control of FINIGARD 112 is described by Coventya as “very precise.”
Typically only a single dip application of FINIGARD 112 provides a steady coefficient of friction of 0.09-0.14 in and against different materials such as steel and powder coated steel. It also measures up to the particularly challenging specs for multiple tightening in aluminum.
FINIGARD 112 also meets the requirements of various OEM fastener specifications. When put to test at a production scale it successfully passes tests like coefficient of friction, cyclic corrosion and conductivity.
Together with its lubrication experts from microGLEIT, Conventya created a new blend of constituents for FINIGARD 112. It’s setting a new benchmark for corrosion protective and friction modified top-coats for Zinc-Nickel coatings. FINIGARD 112 scores well in terms of multiple tightening, thermal loosening, application (single dip) and different counter materials.
Requirements for multiple tightening and various counter materials are becoming more and more popular. The new Daimler fastener spec, which will become effective in 2019, MBN 10544, for example, calls for 5 x tightening cycles against e-coat, aluminum and steel.
