ARaymond Tinnerman To Close Brunswick, OH Plant

BRUNSWICK, OH – ARaymond Tinnerman, the North American business of global fastener firm ARaymond, in Grenoble, France, said it will close its Brunswick, OH plant as it rationalizes manufacturing.

“In an effort to further enhance the efficiency of our operations, we are in the process of optimizing our North American metal footprint and streamlining our available manufacturing capacity,” the company said in a statement.

Headquartered in Brunswick, OH, ARaymond Tinnerman Industrial specializes in both plastic and metal assembly solutions. The facility serves the industrial markets in the United States, Canada and Mexico. In North America, ARaymond Tinnerman employs more than 700 people at five plants. In Brunswick, 54 positions will be eliminated according to the WARN disclosures filed with Ohio’s Office of Workforce Development.

“As part of this strategy, we made the difficult decision to close our Brunswick, OH plant and transfer the work to our other North American facilities,” company said. The closing is expected to occur in various stages that began August 6, 2020 and continues through February 2021, resulting in the cessation of all operations and employment at the site.

ARaymond Tinnerman manufactures a wide range of clips and fasteners using the highest-quality plastic injection molding machines (50 T–500 T) and sheet metal assembly equipment (up to 400 T). ARaymond Tinnerman Industrial says its mastery of bi-injection processes enables the production of complex multi-material parts and a comprehensive engineering department supports customers from prototyping to manufacturing.

“While we have continued to persevere throughout a challenging economic climate, the time has come for us to take additional measures in order to advance the future sustainability of the company,” the company said. “This realignment is aimed at accelerating our cost competitiveness and better serving the needs of our customers.”

ARaymond was founded in France in 1865 and its head offices are in Grenoble, where and the company has two manufacturing plants. ARaymond France is a global leader in its long-standing areas of expertise: fasteners, assembly solutions, and quick connectors: design, engineer, and manufacture assembly systems that eliminate the need for tools, improve assembly line ergonomics, streamline manufacturing, and facilitate serviceability.
